Sports Fest 2025: A Day of Energy, Unity, and Sportsmanship

Sports Fest 2025, held by ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate in collaboration with ICYM Kasaragod Unit, brought together energy, excitement, and true sportsmanship. On Sunday, 23rd November 2025, the fest kicked off at 9:15 AM at the Municipality Stadium, Kasaragod.
 
The event began with a series of morning competitions, starting with the 3000m Men’s Race at 9:15 AM, followed by the 1500m Women’s Running Race. The momentum continued with the Shot Put event for the girls as the third competition, and the 400m Women’s Race as the fourth.
 

Inaugural Programme
After the morning events, a short inaugural program was held, hosted by Ms Vinitha Crasta, Joint Secretary of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate, who warmly welcomed the gathering.

Rev. Fr Vishal Melwin Monis delivered a short and inspiring message, motivating the energetic youth and the entire gathering.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with the presentation of medals and certificates to the winners of the first four events. The champions stood proudly on the victory stand as they were honoured for their achievements.

The highly anticipated sprint events:

100m Women’s Final at 3:45 PM
100m Men’s Final at 3:55 PM drew loud cheers from the spectators.

Endurance events followed, with the 800m Women’s Final at 4:05 PM and the 800m Men’s Final at 4:15 PM, testing the athletes’ stamina and determination.

Finally, the Sports Fest concluded with two thrilling relay events.

These events marked a spectacular and energetic finish to an unforgettable day of sportsmanship and unity.

After the completion of all the events, the concluding ceremony commenced, hosted gracefully by Ms Akshitha, Secretary of the ICYM Kasaragod Unit, who led the valedictory program with confidence and charm.

Br Prethesh, Animator of ICYM Kasaragod Unit, addressed the gathering with a short yet powerful motivational message, encouraging the youth and appreciating their enthusiasm throughout the Sports Fest.


This was followed by the Vote of Thanks, delivered by Mr Stallon D’Souza, Treasurer of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the ICYM Kasaragod Unit for accepting the collaboration and ensuring the smooth and successful execution of the entire event. A token of love was then handed over to the ICYM Kasaragod Unit in appreciation of their dedicated efforts.


A token of gratitude was presented to: Ms. Suzanne, PRO of ICYM Central Council & Mr. Kevin, President of Puttur Deanery for being part of the event and for their dedicated service as scorekeepers for the day.

Appreciation was also extended to the referees for their fair judgment and unwavering support. A token of love was handed over to them as well.

Finally, the much-awaited announcement of winners for all the events was made, filling the participants and their respective units with excitement and pride. Ms Vinitha Crasta, Joint Secretary of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate, announced the list of winners for all the events conducted after the morning session.

All the winners were congratulated and presented with medals and certificates by the dignitaries. The moment everyone awaited arrived when Br. Preethesh announced the Overall Championship Results:

Bela Unit – Champions
Secured 13 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, achieving a total of 79 points.

Narampady Unit – Runners-up
Secured 5 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals, with a total of 58 points.

Miyapadav Unit – Second Runners-up
Secured 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals, earning a total of 22 points.

Each unit carried home not just trophies, but memories, friendships, and a renewed spirit of unity. As the celebrations came to a joyful close, voices rose together in harmony as we sang the ICYM anthem a perfect reminder of who we are and what we stand for.

Long live the spirit of ICYM today, tomorrow, and always.
