October 6, 2024: The ICYM Vorkady Unit inaugurated its new logo and officially launched its jersey as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Vorkady. The event took place on Sunday, October 6, following the Holy Mass.

The program began with an introduction by Ms. Alisha, ICYM member, followed by a prayer service led by the unit members, invoking God’s blessings for the newly unveiled logo and jersey. Ms. Diana Cutinha, President of ICYM Vorkady, welcomed the gathering.

Unveiling Ceremony:
The logo and jersey were unveiled by Rev. Fr. Basil Vas, Director of ICYM Vorkady, along with Rev. Fr. Santhosh D’Souza, Assistant Director; Sr. Severiene D’Cunha, Animator of the unit; Rev. Fr. Naveen Pinto, Administrator of St. Joseph Seminary; Rev. Fr. Antony George Pinto, HOD and Professor of Bible; Sr. Monthi Gomes, Superior of St. Joseph’s Convent; Sr. Shanthi Pereira, Superior of Holy Face Convent; Mr. Rajesh D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Sandhya Lidiya D’Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Anitha D’Souza, Coordinator of 21 Commissions; along with unit leaders Ms. Diana Cutinha and Ms. Sonal Veigas.

The unveiling was met with applause and cheer from the attendees. In his address, Rev. Fr. Basil Vas highlighted the importance of the new logo and jersey as symbols of identity, unity, and purpose. He encouraged the youth to continue their committed service to the Church and society.

As part of the program, prizes were distributed to the winners of the “Moriyal Geetha” competition.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sonal Veigas, Secretary of ICYM Vorkady Unit, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, members, and attendees. The day marked a significant step forward in the unit’s journey, embracing its heritage while stepping into a future of renewed dedication and youth empowerment.
