September 15: The ICYM Kumbla Unit organized its first-ever ‘Kutma Sangin Yuva Milan’ – a unique celebration blending the Nativity Feast and Onam – at a residence in St. Ambrose Ward, Kumbla Parish. The event brought together parish leaders, association heads, and youth members in a spirit of community and thanksgiving.
The celebration was graced by the Parish Priest, Assistant Parish Priest, Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Commission Secretary, Sisters from the Holy Family Convent, Gurkars of all four wards, presidents of various parish associations, and all ICYM members.
Mr. Joel Crasta, President of ICYM Kumbla, welcomed the gathering. The event began with a prayer service led by Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, who also conducted the blessing of the new corn, marking the Nativity celebration.
The youth of ICYM Kumbla prepared and served a traditional meal consisting of 15 varieties of vegetable curries, showcasing unity and dedication. As a gesture of love, the unit gifted a ceiling fan to the host family.
The love and service that was rendered during the day was well appreciated by the family as well as the people who attended it.
