ICYM Miyapadavu Unit joyfully celebrated the Golden Birthday of their beloved Director, Rev. Fr. Edwin Corea, in St Joseph Hall, Miyapadavu.
The celebration was filled with love, gratitude, and cheerful moments, expressing the heartfelt appreciation of the ICYM members toward their spiritual guide. The event was hosted by Ms. Jasmine, Cup Prashasthi Representative.
The programme began with a prayer song led by ICYM members, invoking God’s blessings upon the occasion. This was followed by a welcome speech delivered by Mr. Melwin, who warmly welcomed the gathering and expressed joy in celebrating their Director’s milestone birthday.
The guests seated on the dais included Rev. Fr. Edwin Corea (ICYM Director), Mrs. Sylvia (ICYM Animator), Mrs. Sarita (Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council), Sr. Marylet, Sr. Mary Chakori, Sr. Monica, Mr. Melwin (President, ICYM Miyapadavu), and Ms. Prajwitha (Secretary, ICYM Miyapadavu). A joyful cake-cutting ceremony took place, followed by a short talk from Mr. Melwin, who expressed gratitude for the continuous guidance and encouragement given by Fr. Edwin to the youth.
The members then presented a wishing song and dance performance, adding colour and liveliness to the celebration. As a token of love and respect, a gift was presented to Rev. Fr. Edwin Corea by the ICYM Miyapadavu Unit. Fr. Edwin shared a few heartfelt words, appreciating the efforts and unity of the youth, and encouraged them to continue working together with enthusiasm and faith.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Prajwitha, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the day special.
