First Council Meet of ICYM Kasaragod 2025 – 26 Marks a Pledge Towards Leadership and Sustainability – Green Mission 2025.

ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate held its first council meeting for the year 2025 – 2026 on July 13, 2025, at St Monica School Hall, Kumbla, beginning at 3:30 PM with 40 members in attendance. The meeting was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr Vishal Monis, Director of ICYM Kasaragod Vicariate; Sr Severine D’Cunha, Animator; Mr Ronald Chetan, President of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery; and Mr Lanson D’Souza, Secretary. Dignitaries from ICYM Mangalore Diocese also joined the session, including Mr Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza (President), Ms Maria Dsilva (Secretary), Mr Floyd Vincent Pinto (Joint Secretary), and Ms Muriel Mascarenhas (Social Cause Representative). The meeting commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr Ronald Chetan, who extended heartfelt greetings to all the dignitaries and council members. To mark the occasion and express gratitude, the presidents and secretaries were presented with tokens of appreciation by the executive committee members, setting a tone of unity, respect, and fellowship for the session. Diocese President Mr Vijoy, in turn, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to collaborate closely with the Council. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Secretary Mr Lanson D’Souza, who aptly expressed the collective appreciation for the fruitful deliberations.

Following the council meeting, the members assembled outside the hall to take a proactive step towards environmental stewardship through the GREEN MISSION 2025 initiative. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr Suraj Lobo, who delivered an enlightening brief on the significance of plants and their role in sustaining the ecosystem. Subsequently, plant saplings were distributed to each unit, accompanied by a fervent appeal to nurture and care for them – symbolizing a shared commitment to environmental sustainability. The day concluded on a positive and inspiring note, reflecting the unity, enthusiasm, and deep sense of responsibility among the youth towards both leadership and environmental consciousness, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.
